 The Final Move

Two weeks later, Senzo called a meeting. The plan was to expand to Cape Town, but the police—the ones who weren't on the payroll—were closing in. Sergeant Paul warned them that an internal affairs investigation had started.

"We need to move the money tonight," Senzo said. "Sizwe, you’re coming with us."

Sizwe went home to pack a bag, intending to tell Caroline they were finally leaving for Canada. But when he walked into the living room, he found Officer Thabo sitting on his sofa. Caroline was crying, and Kyle stood over her, protectively.

"Sizwe," Thabo said, his voice devoid of the usual friendliness. "The heist investigation found a fingerprint. Not yours, but Jack's. He’s talking. He’s telling them everything to save his own skin."

Sizwe looked at his wife. "Babe, I did it for us."

"You did it for yourself!" she screamed. "We could have lost everything. We have lost everything!"

Before Thabo could move to arrest him, a car screeched to a halt outside. Gunfire shattered the living room windows. Clinton had returned from Durban, and he wasn't looking for his money—he was looking for revenge.
